Panic at 30,000 Feet: Carrie Ann Inaba Hospitalized After Mid-Air Health Scare
TV personality Carrie Ann Inaba was rushed to the hospital after a frightening mid-flight medical emergency while traveling to New York, sparking concern among fans of Dancing With the Stars.
In an Instagram post shared on April 16, the longtime judge detailed the alarming health scare, revealing that she suddenly became ill during the flight. The 58-year-old celebrity described symptoms that initially felt like food poisoning but quickly escalated into something more serious.
“I very suddenly felt quite ill,” Inaba wrote, explaining that she broke out into a cold sweat, became dizzy, and experienced numbness in her arms—symptoms that raised immediate concern mid-air.
The situation intensified as turbulence temporarily prevented flight attendants from assisting her. While confined to the airplane restroom, Inaba tried to manage the episode on her own, noting that she typically travels with a personal “health toolkit” due to her chronic conditions. However, this incident proved more severe than usual.
Once the symptoms worsened, she alerted the crew. Fortunately, both flight attendants and an onboard medical professional stepped in to help stabilize her condition before the plane landed.
Upon arrival, paramedics transported the TV star to a nearby hospital, where she received prompt medical care. Inaba later expressed gratitude toward the emergency responders who treated her during what she described as a “scary moment,” especially after her blood pressure dropped.
The television host, who has been open about living with autoimmune conditions such as Sjogren’s syndrome, said the experience was a stark reminder of the unpredictability of her health.
Despite regularly managing her condition, Inaba emphasized that this episode was different from anything she had experienced before. She also shared an uplifting message with fans, acknowledging the importance of seeking help and appreciating those who step in during emergencies.
Carrie Ann Inaba has been a staple on Dancing With the Stars since 2005 and remains a prominent figure in entertainment as a dancer, choreographer, and television host.
