President Asif Ali Zardari Hosts Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov at Aiwan-e-Sadr



 Islamabad, Pakistan — President Asif Ali Zardari, on Tuesday, formally received the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Sadyr Zhaparov, at Aiwan-e-Sadr during his official visit to Pakistan. The visit marks an important step toward strengthening bilateral cooperation, regional connectivity, and long-term strategic partnership between the two nations.

President Zardari welcomed President Zhaparov with full ceremonial honours, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to enhancing ties with Kyrgyzstan across multiple sectors, including trade, energy, investment, and people-to-people exchanges.

During their meeting, the two leaders discussed expanding economic cooperation under regional frameworks, enhancing connectivity through the Central Asia–South Asia (CASA) initiative, and boosting collaboration in education and cultural exchange. Both sides expressed mutual interest in broadening their partnership with a focus on stability, development, and shared regional prosperity.

State Banquet in Honour of President Zhaparov

Later in the evening, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif jointly hosted a state banquet at Aiwan-e-Sadr to honour President Zhaparov and the Kyrgyz delegation.

The banquet highlighted Pakistan’s commitment to deepening its diplomatic ties with Central Asia. In their remarks, both President Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s readiness to work closely with Kyrgyzstan in promoting regional stability, enhancing trade corridors, and fostering economic alliances.

Dignitaries from political, diplomatic, and government sectors were in attendance, including senior leaders from the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), marking the significance of the visit in Pakistan’s broader foreign policy framework.

President Zhaparov expressed gratitude for the warm reception and reiterated Kyrgyzstan’s desire to strengthen cooperation with Pakistan in the fields of commerce, energy, transport, and mutual security.

A Step Toward Stronger Regional Collaboration

The visit is being viewed as a key moment in advancing Pakistan–Kyrgyz relations. Both sides agreed to accelerate work on joint initiatives, enhance business linkages, and continue dialogue for long-term regional development.
